I am such a female empowerment lover and I LOVE the spin on this classic fairytale / princess trope. What a great read (and high five for diversity which is ALWAYS lacking in the "fairytale" world).

This book is such a beautiful take on the traditional Princess Fairytale, which fits very well with our family values of standing up for what you believe in, not feeling like you must conform to some predetermined view of how you should live your life, and giving yourself permission to dream! I think it's amazing as a Girl Power book, but also quite good for boys to read too!

Alice, Age 10: This book shows that it's good to be powerful, to be your own self. It teaches that what you want is important. I like this book because there are many different characteristics in one person, a princess that is supposed to be loyal, and well mannered.
